About the Project
Before we refer to our project, we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts those holy elders and monks who gave us their blessing to photograph the monasteries, the Holy Cloisters and Holy Cells of Mount Athos in order to display the Athonite monasticism and the Orthodox monastic spirituality, for the glory of God.
Our company has been working for the last three years to create a unique project for global data of religious and historical character, namely the presentation of all the monasteries of Mount Athos and several Holy Cloisters-Cells through a 360 degrees Virtual Tour. The aim of this effort is the creation of a global historical documentary that will remain unchanged over time. This is done by creating a site, the mountathos360.com, through which there will be free access (without a fee) to all internet users who will be able in this way to “visit” the Holy Mountain. In this way we give the opportunity to all those who, for example: a) do not have the financial capacity, b) are persons belonging to vulnerable groups (eg the disabled), and c) are women (ban due to the “Inaccessibilty”), to see and “visit” Mount Athos for the first time in their lives.
On the website the user is given the opportunity to read historical information about each Sacred Convent, Sacred Skete and Holy Cell they browse. With the grace of God we hope that in the future our website will be enriched with more photographs and historical information in order to make it more informative for the visitors interested. Utilizing the popularity of the site, we have created a support group (without any economic benefit to our company), the GIVE LOVE support group, which will include all the necessary elements of the Missions in Africa and NGOs in Greece that support our vulnerable fellow human beings on a daily basis in order to facilitate the work of all those who wish to help.
On our website you can find a tribute –360 degrees Travelogue in places where our modern Saint, Elder Paisius has lived and given his spiritual battle. We hope that this difficult,time consuming and full of love effort for the Holy Mountain will reach your hearts!
